Q. “Hi Lori, you seem to know a lot of other color consultants. There are two designers in my immediate area who offer color consulting services and I have talked with both of them. How do I choose which one to hire?”
Through the exploration of color relationships, Johannes Itten was one of the first people to organize contrasts and identify them as harmonious color strategies. Itten’s Seven Color Contrasts:
- Contrast of Saturation
- Contrast of Light and Dark (value)
- Contrast of Extension
- Contrast of Complements
- Simultaneous Contrast
- Contrast of Hue
- Contrast of Warm and Cool
