As an experienced professional architectural color consultant, I can’t imagine using just one brand of paint.
Practically speaking, it is not possible to work with national and international clients and specify just one brand of paint because access varies. Some brands have limited distribution and are strictly regional. And just because a brand may be widely available, that doesn’t mean there’s a store in every neighborhood – your neighborhood. Here’s what you need to know in order to shop smart for paint.

This Colorgraphical™ moment is the answer to one of our reader’s questions. It’s a great question. If I were to answer in a traditional manner, it would be a lot of words. So, I’m answering Mary’s question like this.

Thanks for all the great feedback on the previously published Pantone Colors of the Year infographic. Received several requests to convert Tangerine Tango to popular paint brands. We’ll start with Benjamin Moore, first in the series. More color matches in more brands to come.
This is a good example of how LRV, Light Reflectance Value, plays a part in the energy savings equation. In very basic, stripped down terms lighter colors reflect more energy from the sun than darker colors. The original roof sealant was a medium gray with an estimated LRV of 40-45. The new, bright white coating has a LRV of 90.
